Saying goodbye to Sansepolcro - and hello to new adventures!

Tomorrow will be a day of mixed emotions! We are leaving our beloved Italian home in Sansepolcro and taking off in smaller travel groups to visit other parts of this beautiful country before making our way to Switzerland.

The first two nights Joy, Lizzie and I will be staying in Cinque Terre, more specifically, the tiny town of Monterosso. It has a beach (WAHHHOOOO!) and is supposed to be one of the most delightful places in Italy. Then on Wednesday night we'll pay a visit to Lake Como (where George Clooney supposedly has a house) and on Thursday we will head to Interlaken to catch a train to Gimmelwald. We'll spend a few days there enjoying the beauties of Switzerland (including, I believe, an intimate visit with the Alps!) and then arrive in Lugano on Sunday where we will spend our last week of classes before the group parts ways for our long travel break.

Crystal, Joy and I will be starting off our long trip in Salzburg, Austria for two days (a Sound of Music tour is definitely at the top of our priority list!), then we'll travel west back to Switzerland to spend a couple of days in Lucerne. From there Crystal will make her way to Munich and then fly back to the States with the rest of the Italy/Switzerland half students, while Joy and I will continue on to Paris for a day, then catch a ferry from Calais, cross the channel to Dover, and finally end in London on July 1 for the second half of the program. Other whole program students are spending extended time in Germany and France before meeting up in London for five weeks in the U.K.

My internet access will likely be extremely limited (as in none) until we reach Lugano next Sunday, so I will say goodbye for now and look forward to posting an update when I get the opportunity. Prayers for safe travel and good attitudes within each of the groups would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again to all of those who have been emailing me and sending me words of encouragement. It has meant the world to me and I wish that I had time to reply to each of them in an adequate manner!

Well I'm to our farewell dinner at the Servi. All the Italian families are coming for a big banquet and it will be sad, but wonderful!
